Hosting and server management

Hosting and server management covers getting your website onto appropriate hosting and keeping that environment configured correctly: DNS, certificates, server settings, caching and CDN. It suits businesses whose hosting has become a source of outages, slowness or confusion about who is responsible.

When this helps

Problems this solves

  • Hosting nobody in the business fully understands or controls.
  • DNS and certificates managed by a supplier you have lost contact with.
  • A server that falls over at the worst moment with no monitoring in place.
  • Slow responses caused by the environment rather than the site.

Scope

What's included

Every quote lists the deliverables in writing, so there is no ambiguity about what you receive.

Deliverables

  • Hosting recommendation and setup, or a planned move with minimal downtime.
  • DNS configuration and documentation, including mail-related records handled carefully.
  • SSL certificate setup and renewal arrangements.
  • Server configuration, including NGINX, PHP settings and caching layers where applicable.
  • Cloudflare setup: proxying, caching rules, and security settings appropriate to your site.
  • Agreed monitoring, alert routing and a documented access and responsibility list.

Not included as standard

  • Hosting, CDN and certificate costs are yours and billed by those providers.
  • I do not advertise uptime guarantees; those come from your hosting provider.
  • Email hosting and deliverability beyond DNS records is scoped separately.

Anything here can be added to the scope and priced separately.
